Growing up in Sandy, Oregon and graduating High School in 1970 I found my activities enjoying the Sandy River tributaries fishing and the Mt. Hood National Forests.
I then proceeded onto college at the University of Oregon.
My love for fishing lead to the Pacific Ocean steering me onto Oceaneering Internationals’ Commercial Diving Center in Willmington, California.
In 1974, I struck out for the oilfields in Alaska construction diving on oil platforms off Kenai, Alaska in the Cook Inlet and the Alyeska Pipeline Projects. During those years with Oceaneering International they led me to the Gulf of Mexico, West Coast of California, New Zealand and Singapore.
With the last 25 years, returning to the Pacific Northwest, my work involved managing projects in the Heavy and Highway industries that included building bridges and roads throughout Oregon and Washington.
With being back in the northwest it re-energized my love of fishing.
Retiring in 2013 after 40 years in the construction industry I can now do what has interested me the most, fishing. Guiding now offers me the opportunity and time to take those clients having heard about the great fishery on Oregon’s Columbia River and working with numerous agencies to help manage our precious resource.
